Bogota is the first Latin American city of the Creative Cities Network for Music, along with Seville (Spain), Bologna (Italy), Glasgow (Scotland) and Ghent (Belgium), due to the wide offer of free and open-air festivals of rock, salsa, jazz, opera, hip-hop and Colombian music. Since 1994 the city has hold ‘Rock al Parque’, the largest free festival in Latin America and the third largest in the world.
